How to Deal when trapped in a pop-up?

When you see a pop-up window, you need to remember a few simple rules to make sure your valuable data is protectedIn this article, we have discussed some browsing ethics that can be relates with your antivirus software to create a platform in which malware cannot thrive. For more updates and information contact McAfee Support.

Not to download anything-

This may sound like common sense, but many pop-ups are built on the notion that users love gifts and will ignore the best practices for getting them. Ignore the instructions that you need this software to remove a virus because the download procedure will install the malware that it has hidden.

Not to click anything-

Even though the pop-up window does not offer you software to download, you still cannot click on it. Many pop-ups will claim that you have won something and that you simply need to "click to continue". These work the same way as magic tricks by targeting your attention while you click on a disguised link that will take you to their malicious page. In general, avoid clicking on a page that you have not explicitly opened and be careful, never mind entering your personal information such as the address or details of a card in a pop-up window. For any other query contact McAfee Customer Support.

Close the window once you notice a new window open without your permission, it is best to close it. Try to identify the correct way to close it by clicking on the "x" (or by right-clicking and selecting "Close Tab" if it were a pop-up window). This can often be difficult because of the amount of pop-ups with multiple "fake" buttons. In this situation, it may be helpful to know how to use the task manager to eliminate the pop-up process. This is especially easy on the Chrome browser where you can choose "Tools> Task Manager" from the Hamburger menu or you can use the "Shift + Esc" shortcut to open the Task Manager. Once the menu is open, you want to choose the tab containing the pop-up window, then click on "End Process" to close the window.

Just remember to be proactive and careful when browsing the web, and never install anything that a website tells you. It's always helpful to use a pop-up blocker and anti-virus combination to keep you safe and remember these three things. If you have any of this type of issue then contacts McAfee Tech Support.
